Ina Cariño is a Filipinx American poet. [1] [2] They are the winner of a 2022 Whiting Award for poetry, [3] [4] [5] and the winner of the 2021 Alice James Award [6] for her first poetry collection Feast, [7] published by Alice James Books in March 2023. [8] Previously, their work has appeared in literary journals such as Guernica, [9] Poetry Magazine, [10] The Paris Review Daily, [11] and elsewhere.
Education
Ina has an MFA in creative writing from North Carolina State University. [12] She has a BA in English literature with a minor in music performance on the violin from East Carolina University.

Community involvement
In 2019, Ina founded a poetry reading series called Indigena Collective, [16] a platform that aims to center marginalized creatives in the NC community and beyond. [17]
