Hokubō (北房町, Hokubō-chō) was a town located in Jōbō District, Okayama, Japan.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 6,158 and a density of 86.51 persons per km2. The total area was 71.18 km2.
On March 31, 2005, Hokubō, along with the towns of Katsuyama, Kuse, Ochiai and Yubara, and the villages of Chūka, Kawakami, Mikamo and Yatsuka (all from Maniwa District), was merged to create the city of Maniwa. [1] [2]
真庭市は、平成17年3月31日に当時の真庭郡勝山町、落合町、湯原町、久世町、美甘村、川上村、八束村、中和村及び上房郡北房町の9町村が合併して誕生しました。
Hokubo-cho, Katsuyama-cho, Ochiai-cho, Yubara-cho, Kuse-cho, Mikamo-son, Kawakami-son, Yatsuka-son and Chuka-son were incorporated into a newly established Maniwa-shi as of March 31, 2005.
