Henderson Event Center is the tentative name of a planned multi-purpose 6,000-seat indoor arena to be built in Henderson, Nevada. It would be constructed on the site of the former Henderson Pavilion and to be owned by the city of Henderson with Vegas Golden Knights as the arena operator. [1] It will be the future home of the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League. [2]

History

On February 6, 2020, the Vegas Golden Knights purchased an American Hockey League franchise membership from Spurs Sports & Entertainment (which previously operated the San Antonio Rampage in San Antonio, Texas) and applied for relocation of the franchise to Henderson/Las Vegas, Nevada. The purchase and relocation was subject to approval from the American Hockey League Board of Governors. This approval was given on February 28, 2020. [3]
