Hazro ( Ottoman Turkish: ترجيل, romanized: Tercil, [2] Kurdish: Hezro [3]) is a municipality and district of Diyarbakır Province, Turkey. [4] Its area is 426 km2, [5] and its population is 16,093 (2022). [1]
In the local elections in March 2019 Ahmet Çevik from the Peoples' Democratic Party ( HDP) was elected Mayor. [6] He was dismissed in November 2019 and the District Governor Ali Öner was appointed as trustee. [7]
