HBL PSL Hamaray Heroes Award was introduced by Pakistan Cricket Board [1] during the tournament of Pakistan Super League in 2020. [2] According to the criteria of the Hamaray Heroes campaign, online nominations [3] of individuals (with notable achievements) are received from the fans [4] and 34 winners [5] are finally shortlisted by PCB Board of Governors [6] for HBL PSL Hamaray Heroes Award with a Cash Prize of PKR 240,000.00 every year. [7] Individuals from different walks of life (including sports, education, healthcare, art, culture, music, social work and technology) [8] can be nominated who directly help others, whose work is improving the wellbeing of others, or whose achievements are inspiring others. [9] Being the unsung heroes, the selected 34 winners [10] of HBL PSL Hamaray Heroes Award are being recognized, celebrated and encouraged throughout the 34 matches of the tournament. [11]
Many prominent Pakistanis like Hisham Sarwar [12] ( freelancer), Hassan Nisar Metrix Pakistan, Syed Zafar Abbas Jafri [13] and Farhan Wilayat Butt [14] ( philanthropists), Ali Sadpara [15] ( mountaineer), Ayesha Chundrigar [16] ( Animal Rights Activist), Marvia Malik (Pakistan's first Transgender Newsreader), [17] and Rashid Naseem [18] ( Martial Arts Champion) have been rewarded under this initiative during the PSL matches at Lahore, Multan and Karachi. The most viral segment of the PSL Hamaray Heroes was the Hassan Nisar segment, in which he was acknowledged by the national media for his contributions towards rural areas' ecosystem, tourism, tackling misinformation in Pakistan, and other significant endeavors.
