Guayadeque was a free and open-source audio player with database written in C++ using the WxWidgets toolkit. It uses Gstreamer to manage the audio and SQLite for the music metadata database. [3] A Qt rewrite of the program was planned in 2019, [3] but it did not end up happening. On September 29, 2023, it was announced on the Guayadeque forums that development had ceased. [4]

Features

Guayadeque features a simple and customizable user interface with a large amount of fine-tuning options, [5] while being lightweight on system resources. [6] It supports a wide variety of audio formats including OGG, FLAC, MP3, WAV, and it also has support for ALSA. The program supports for last.fm, automatic cover art and lyric fetching, a smart playlist feature, VU meters, and the ability to label tracks and edit track tags using MusicBrainz. [6] [7] It also features a system tray icon allowing which allowed control of the program. [5]
