Frecciabianca ( lit. 'white arrow') is a high-speed train operated by Trenitalia, Italy's national train operator, and one of its Le Frecce brands, along with Frecciarossa and Frecciargento. [1] Frecciabianca was introduced in 2011, replacing Eurostar City Italia. Frecciabianca trains operate at speeds up to 200 km/h (124 mph).
As of February 2024, Frecciabianca operates between Rome and Genoa, with some services continuing to either Milan or Turin. [1] In November 2023, [2] Trenitalia announced that its Frecciabianca route between Rome and Ravenna would be upgraded to Frecciargento. [1] [2]
Sometimes the ETR 485s are also used on the Frecciabianca services, which often replace the ETR.460s when they aren't available, mainly on the Rome-Genoa/Turin/Milan route.
