Graphed data 1930-1959 from US Bureau of Mines bulletins Data 1960-2012 from OPEC website http://www.opec.org/library/Annual%20Statistical%20Bulletin/interactive/current/FileZ/Main.htm archive copy at the Wayback Machine Note that the OPEC website counts only crude oil produced through wells, and excludes mined petroleum, such as that from Canadian oil sands.
