Leopoldstadt und rechts das Gebäude „Department 1“ (D1) mit der markanten
Cortenstahl-Fassade. Der Campus mit rund 35.000 m² verbauter Grundfläche und etwa 55.000 m² öffentlich zugänglicher Freifläche wurde von 2009 bis 2013 auf dem südwestlichen Teil des einstigen
Weltausstellungs- und späteren Messegeländes am Nordostrand des
Wiener Praters um rund eine halbe Milliarde Euro errichtet. Das Library and Learning Center plante das Architekturbüro von
Zaha Hadid.
