English: WASHINGTON (Aug. 4, 2008) Vice Adm. Bruce MacDonald, Navy Judge Advocate General (JAG), is pinned by his wife, Karen, during a promotion ceremony at the Pentagon. MacDonald is the first vice admiral to hold the position of Navy JAG. The 2008 National Defense Authorization Act advanced the position of the JAG in the Navy, Army, and Air Force to the grade of a three-star general or flag officer.
