PORTLAND, Maine – As Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Jarret Kenning of Maritime Safety and Security Team (MSST) New York follows behind, Petty Officer 3rd Class Rick Hodges, also of MSST New York, leads his explosive-detecting dog, Mynx, through a line of cars waiting to board the Cat ferry to Nova Scotia at the Portland International Marine Terminal Friday, August 17.The Coast Guard worked with the Transportation Security Administration and Customs and Border Protection as part of a Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response (VIPR) team to screen ferry passengers during the operation.
