The largest of Frederic Edwin Church's paintings of icebergs. Will be on display at the
Smithsonian American Art Museum through April 2013, followed by an exhibition at the
Metropolitan Museum of Art through September 2013, when it will be returned to the Dallas Museum of Art (see image source below).
This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: Brightened and color correction to be similar (not perfect match) to Dallas Art Museum copy, as well as version appearing in the book American Sublime.
