O God, Our Father in Heaven, who hast so greatly blessedour country and hast preserved our land and institutionsthrough so many years, we thank Thee for Thy mercies andoffer our gratitude for Thy providence. We thank Theefor the men who have borne so large a part in the history ofour nation, these choice spirits and heroic souls who have ))utinto the nations life and thought ideals of truth and honorand virtue which have borne fruit a hundredfold to succeedinggenerations.
