DescriptionSouthern Pacific Shasta Daylight circa 1949.JPG
Photo postcard of the Southern Pacific Shasta Daylight, which traveled the West Coast between Portland, Oregon and Oakland, California between 1949 and 1966. This is train #10, going north to Portland. It appears to be one of the early 1949 runs of the train as it's equipped with EMD E7 locomotives; the locomotives were switched to Alco models soon after its inaugural 1949 run. The train is also shown with its original colorful paint scheme; SP changed to red and black in 1959.
