  • English: In CE.1812 (HE.11,812), a Mixtec painter whose identity is unknown made this Portrait of His Excellency Mr. José María Morelos. Captain of the armies of America, & member of his supreme junta and conqueror of the southern course. Today it is in the National Museum of History (Chapultepec Castle).

  • Español: En 1812, un pintor mixteco del que se desconoce la identidad realizó este Retrato del excelentísimo señor don José María Morelos. Capitán de los ejércitos de América. Vocal de su suprema junta y conquistador del rumbo sur. Hoy se encuentra en el Museo Nacional de Historia (Castillo de Chapultepec).
