| Description | These are the remains of the covered portico (stoa) connecting the ancient Bath of Faustina at Miletus to the exercise area or palaestra. As you can tell from this photo, over the centuries silt carried down by the Meander river covered the entire city of Miletus many feet deep. To expose these ruins, tons of silt and the plants that had grown on it had to be cleared away. | ||
