DescriptionRebellions against Uthman & the Kharijite Origins.png
English: Rebellions against the 3rd caliph Uthman erupted in 656 in various garrison cities and led to his death at the hands of the rebels. This was followed by the First Fitna (656-661) which ended with the emergence of the first sect of Islam, the Kharijites, assassination of the 4th caliph Ali, and the establishment of the Umayyad Caliphate (661-750).
