Description
English: Copper alloy medal. Milled disc advertising, commemorating or honouring J. G. Canning MP (1770-1827), who among other political achievements was a notable Parliamentary orator and a very short-term holder of Prime Ministerial office.

Obverse description: Bust collared and jacketed left.

Obverse inscription: JOHN GEORGE CANNING MP

Reverse description: Book open at a text, now illegible, with laurel leaves below. Faint traces of an illegible circumferential inscription.

Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1820-1830.
