Constructed in 1883 to serve Esmeralda County. In 1907, the county seat was moved to Goldfield and the courthouse sat vacant until 1911 when Mineral County was established and this courthouse put back into use for it's second county.
It served
Mineral Countyuntil the current courthouse was built in 1970. It is the only courthouse in Nevada, and one of only a few in the country to have served two separate counties.
