Summary

Description
English: School at Middletown Friends Meetinghouse in Middletown Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Thos building is not on the NRHP but ought to be. It has been documented by HABS (but this photo is my own). Adjacent Friends Meeting was built in 1835, and presumably the school dates from this period as well. Joshua Pusey, a Quaker and Philadelphia lawyer, lived next door at "Maple Linden" (now a modern retirement home), according to a Pennsylvania Historical Marker (PHMC). He also invented paper matches. Located southwest of Media, PA on east side of RT. 352
