Summary

Description Driving back to Savannah via Athens, we stopped at a farm stand off US-129 to buy some peaches for a snack. The signs advertising the farm stand said, "MAYHAW JELLY!" So once we got there and surveyed the jellies, we asked the woman working there what mayhaw jelly was. She said: "A mayhaw is like a cross between a berry and a haw." (At this point Richard couldn't speak in fear of laughing inappropriately, so we both nodded.) "It's really really sour, but when you mix it with the sugar, it's just...people come here and buy four, five jars of it at a time. It's my most expensive jelly"--six dollars, she whispers--"but it's..." SOLD!
