English: Market Street, San Francisco, from postcard, 1st decade of 20th century. At the near left, the
Flood Building at
Powell Street. One of San Francisco's most famous department stores,
The Emporium, is to the right. While that store failed in the late 20th century the site is now remodeled.
The building containing the viewpoint no longer exists as it was removed to create space for Hallidie Plaza (named after
Andrew Smith Hallidie, an open space pit entrance to the Powell Street BART/Muni station.
