Indian Ocean (Dec 17, 2005) - An SH-60 Seahawk helicopter delivers needed supplies to the amphibious assault ship USS Tarawa (LHA 1) while conducting vertical replenishment operations with the USNS Patuxent (T-AO 201) . A second Seahawk helicopter hovers nearby awaiting its safe approach.
Tarawa is the flagship for Expeditionary Strike Group One, currently conducting maritime security operations in the Indian Ocean and Western Pacific in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
