Description The Great Mosque of Kairouan, founded originally in the late 7th century, is the most important mosque in Tunisia and is regarded as the fourth holiest Islamic site, after Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem. This photograph shows the lintel and the discharging arch of the door of the minaret.
