The Barringer Meteor Crater from space. Image from NASA. Photo taken December 14, 1982 by the Landsat satellite.

The gully southwest of the crater is Canyon Diablo, which drains northward-(due-north-northwest in photo, then due northeast-not shown, to Little Colorado), into the Little Colorado River and then to the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. U.S. Interstate 40 can be seen running east-west across the top-(center) of the picture. (The Canyon Diablo intersects at the freeway at, en:Two Guns, Arizona, (elev. 5415). The canyon at upper left is Yellow Jacket Canyon.)
