English: Lachnocrepis parallela (Say). This species is found in marshes and swamps in temperate eastern North America and is closely related to two species living under similar conditions in eastern Asia. The genus Lachnocrepis is another example of taxa exhibiting disjunct eastern Asia-eastern North America distributional patterns. Most current biogeographers agree that such disjunct patterns result from range restrictions of taxa associated with the mixed mesophytic forest during the mid-Tertiary.
