Summary

Description
English: An Attack Squadron 72 (VA-72) "Blue Hawks" LTV A-7E Corsair II (BuNo 160552) of the Commander, Carrier Air Wing 3 (CAG CVW-3), flies homeward following deployment in the Persian Gulf area during "Operation Desert Storm". The squadron's aircraft, along with planes of VA-46 "Clansmen", were decommissioned on 30 June 1991 following return to the United States after twenty years of service in Carrier Air Wing 3 (CVW-3). This particular Corsair exhibits a camouflage paint scheme along with the name of the war in which it played a part. Corsairs of both VA-72 and VA-46 had been stationed aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67). Note the "Camel" symbols for missions flown during the Operation Desert Storm below the cockpit.
