Summary

Description

The Kentucky side of Black Mountain offers a rare view of the Appalachian coalfields with no mountaintop removal mining in sight. This area was protected by a successful Lands Unsuitable for Mining petition brought by citizens with Kentuckians For The Commonwealth in the late 90s.
