Deutsch: Das Aquarell der Halberstädter Künstlerin Käthe Lipke zeigt eine Innenansicht der Synagoge um 1930. Der Bau wurde 1712 durch den Halberstädter Hofjuden Berend Lehmann errichtet und galt als eine der größten und prächtigsten Barocksynagogen in Deutschland.
Die Innengestaltung der Synagoge ist durch historische Schwarzweißfotografien lückenlos belegt, dieses Bild ist allerdings das einzig bekannte Dokument, das einen Eindruck von der Farbigkeit des Raumes gibt. Der Blick der Künstlerin geht nach Osten, man erkennt den aufwändig gestalteten barocken Aron HaKodesch, den Schrein, in dem hinter dem blauen Samtvorhang die (über 70!) Torarollen bewahrt wurden; davor die achteckige Bima, das erhöhte Pult für die Toralesungen.
