A Igreja - Construída em 1787, a Igreja de Santo Amaro, em General Câmara, é uma referência da arquitetura portuguesa no Rio Grande do Sul. A Vila Histórica de Santo Amaro, onde fica o templo católico, foi fundada por engenheiros militares portugueses. Ela está no caminho percorrido pelos portugueses e colonizadores que subiram o Rio Jacuí, em direção às Missões. A originalidade desse templo está na composição de sua fachada, que é formada por três corpos: uma central, que é à frente da igreja e dois laterais que, defrente, dão a impressão de duas torres, mas são, na realidade, apenas grossas paredes, base dos campanários
