MECHANICS AND METALS NATIONAL BANK of the City of New York This bank is one of the leading financial institutions of the United States andhas one of the largest and best equipped banking rooms available, covering an areaof approximately 10,500 square feet. The scientific illumination of the working surfaces situated within the variousparts of this area was designed to meet the most exacting conditions, each desk,counter and table receiving individual treatment. A lighting system for a bank of this character must work itself into thedetail of the equipment and not detract from the dignitv and simplicity, and berich but not gaudy. The prevailing finish of the interior of this particularinstallation is Old English Oak; consequent^ the entire Frink equipment offixtures and reflectors for the bank screens, desks, etc., made of cold-drawn bronze,statuary finish.
