Summary

Description
English: HMS Tyne leads the way as all three vessel of the same Class operated together for a joint exercise.

In a rare occurrence the Severn Class vessels HMS Mersey, HMS Severn and HMS Tyne sailed together in the Solent as part of a squadron exercise to demonstrate their capabilities and to take the opportunity to operate as a group.

The River Class patrol vessels usually work independently, patrolling 80,000 square miles of UK waters to prevent over-fishing and to protect UK and EU fish stocks and to provide security and reassurance.
