Description IWM caption : HMS KING GEORGE V, photographed with a huge hole in the bows against a mountainous backdrop,after the battleship had collided with HMS PUNJABI in dense fog on 1 May 1942, at Seidesfjord, Iceland. HMS PUNJABI was cut in half and lost. HMS KING GEORGE V was taken for repair to Gladstone dock, Liverpool (photographed from the destroyer HMS WHEATLAND).
