Description
English: Photo of Catholic priest and U.S. Navy Chaplain (Fr.) George Pucciarelli, taken in Beirut, Lebanon. Pucciarelli was stationed with a Marine Amphibious Unit (MAU) as part of the U.S. contingent of the International Peacekeeping Force, and was present on Oct 23, 1983, when a suicide bomber drove his truck into one of the two buildings used as U.S. Marine Corps barracks, killing 241 U.S. military personnel and wounding 60 others.
