DescriptionFusee Delta II lancement rover Mars.jpg
English: The Mars Exploration Rover A (Spirit) mission will use a standard Delta II 7925 when it launches (between May 30 and June 16, 2003). The later MER B (Opportunity) launch (between June 25 and July 12, 2003) will need more energy to get to Mars, so it will launch on a Delta II 7925H, where "H" stands for "Heavy". This diagram shows the solid-fuel rocket engines, stages 1, 2 and 3, the fairing halves, and the MER spacecraft (circled).
