Summary

Description The church at 126 West 16th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built c.1835 in the Rundbogenstil style. It was used by the Catholic Apostolic Church from the 1850s until 1886, when they moved to a new church on West 57th Street, which is now the Lutheran Church for All Nations. The sanctuary on 16th Street was renovated in 1886 by Alfred D. F. Hamlin for the use of the Église Évangélique Française (French Evangelical Church), a Presbyterian congregation which began in 1846.
