English: The "Fox River Grove Castle" is located near the Union Pacific railroad
racks and US 14 in Fox River Grove, Illinois. Built by an engineer homesick for Luxemburg. Not a National Registered Historical Site. In McHenry County. Also called Bettendorf Castle. Theodore Bettendorf, who played in the original Vianden Castle in Luxembourg as a child, started building the castle in 1931, remained a bachelor and built for over 30 years. Sometimes it was used for weddings, etc. but it has always been a private residence. Current owner likes his privacy, but "gave me permission" to photograph from the public street.
