DescriptionFormer Engine No. 19 firehouse, Buffalo, New York - 20200424.jpg
English: The former Engine No. 19 firehouse at 209 Forest Avenue, Buffalo, New York, April 2020. Built in 1887, Engine 19 is the youngest of a trio of former fire stations in Buffalo of similar vintage and style (the others being
Engine 16 on Main Street and
Engine 18 on Fillmore Avenue; Engine 21 on Best Street and Engine 4 on Spruce Street were of the same ilk too, but are no longer extant), and the only one among them that still remains in service as an active fire hall. As with the others, segmental-arched windows framed with molded brick archivolts, decorative corbeling, and an Eastlake-influenced cornice along a flat roofline characterize the architecture. Engine 19 was named a local landmark in 2018.
