Deutsch: „Geteilt und unten gespalten; oben in Silber (Weiß) ein schwarzes durchgehendes Kreuz, unten vorn in Silber (Weiß) ein schwarzes Fasseisen, hinten in Schwarz gekreuzt silberne (weiße) Schlägel und Eisen.“
English: “Per fess Argent a continous cross sable and per pale Argent a barrel iron sable and sable hammer and pick saltirewise.”
Loë, deren Schloss in Marl lag.
English: The arms were granted on April 20, 1936 and show in the upper half the cross of Cologne, to which the area historically belonged until 1802 as an exclave. The lower right part shows a barrel iron, derived from the arms of the Lords of Loe, who owned a castle in the town. The lower left part shows hammer and pick as symbols for the former importance of mining in the city.
