Other information

This image is available on numerous sites on the internet.

According to 1992 PhD thesis of A.G Jafarov, (see in http://tekhnosfera.com/vozniknovenie-i-razvitie-knizhnoy-torgovli-v-azerbaydzhane (in Russian)) M.K. Popov was one of the three well known professional book publishers and traders in Baku by the turn of the 20th century. Therefore, he was already in his mature years in the early 1900s. Given that the average longevity among males in the Russian Empire at that time was less than 40 years (see http://www.demogr.mpg.de/books/drm/009/part1.pdf page 6), M.K. Popov had very slim chances to survive until 1926.
