DescriptionBridge to Pier 6, Gatwick North Terminal - geograph.org.uk - 74055.jpg
English: Bridge to Pier 6, Gatwick North Terminal. View taken from pier 6 (through the window - colour adjusted to take away the blue tint of the glass)
A view of this large bridge (opened in May 2005) to convey the size of the structure. The large aircraft can easily pass beneath its central span, as can be seen by the Continental aircraft about to do just that. At 32m high, it is designed to allow 747-400 aircraft to pass underneath (and 3 million pedestrians a year to walk across).
Access to the bridge from the main terminal and the pier is via escalators
