English: Birmingham Friends Octangonal School, part of the NRHP site Birmingham Friends Meetinghouse and School. On the NRHP since July 27, 1971. At 1245 Birmingham Road, right next to the meetinghouse and about 80 yards from the Orthodox Meetinghouse (also on NRHP), Birmingham Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, near Chadds Ford, PA. Before the school was built, the site was the main battlefield in the Battle of Brandywine in 1777. Many Friends (Quaker) schools in the area were octagonal until about 1840, but this is one of the few to survive - another on the NRHP is in Newtown, Delaware County, PA
