Summary

Description
English: Atacamite, Boleite, Malachite
Locality: Santa Rosa Mine, Noche Buena, Municipio de Mazapil, Zacatecas, Mexico ( Locality at mindat.org)
Size: miniature, 5.1 x 3.8 x 2.1 cm
Boleite with Atacamite and Malachite
A very rare specimen of sharp boleite crystals to 5mm on SOLID MATRIX ...this is rare in itself. What is more, the matrix is a mix of copper species that are very rare in this deposit, ESPECIALLY in association with the boleite. In fact, even on the few other matrix pieces I have seen, the atacamite is more a smear on the rock than an actual crystallized accessory species as we see here. This is therefore not just a pretty specimen, but a sigificant locality piece - and probably a very old one dating to the early finds here prior to 1900.
