Stacy-Judd. the author, has de-voted the greater part of his life to studyand exploration of the Central Americanempire and it is his fond hope that themovement of which he is indisputably thefather, will eventually result in an acceptedAmerican style. The successful explorations which Mr.Stacy-Judd has already conducted areabout to be followed by the greatest of allexpeditions—the largest and most completeever to enter any jungle. The Mayas were great astronomers,adepts at astrology, physicians and ex-ceedingly learned in all the arts and crafts;in other words, highly civilized.
