Summary
Except for the inscription "Metropolitan Police Department St. Louis, Missouri" it is identical to the Great Seal of the State of Missouri, extremely close reproductions of which are customized routinely throughout the state for individual state and local government agencies, as well public and private educational institutions. Note: this is for the Independent City of St. Louis's police department, which separated from the county of St. Louis in 1876.
