Italian painter and drawer Carlo Francesco, a more powerful artist than his father, became the leading painter in Lombardy in the mid-17th century, painting frescoes, altarpieces, devotional works, and portraits. His work was influenced by early 17th-century Milanese art. He was often assisted by his younger brother Giuseppe.
