Summary

Description

Tuxedo Black / Marble White. Edsel Ford introduced the Mercury in 1939 as a model to fill the gap between the basic Ford, and the luxury Lincoln. The first Monterey was introduced in 1950 as a high-end 2 door coupe, in 1952 it became a separate series and was Mercury's top model. With the introduction of the Montclair in 1955, the Monterey was then the mid spec model. The Monterey was redesigned in 1957, a new frame design allowed a lower floor which made the car look lower and longer. 1958 brought quad headlamps, as well as a new engine The base model Mercury for 1958 was the Medalist, available in 2 or 4 door Sedan Next was the Monterey, available in 2 and 4 door Sedan, 2 and 4 door Hardtop and Convertible. The Montclair, 2 or 4 door Hardtop, Convertible and 4 door Sedan Top of the line was the Turnpike Cruiser, in 2 or 4 door Hardtop. Wagons were the Parklane, Voyager and Colony Park.
