The Buick Motor Company was formed in 1903, it was General Motors' upmarket car, second only to Cadillac.
From 1931 all Buicks were powered by a straight 8.
For 1936, Buicks got a more rounded body and a bull nose grille. Also in 1936 Buick gave names to its models, now only two straight 8s available.
The 118 inch wheelbase Series 40 Special got a 93hp 233 cu in, available in 2 door Business Coupe, Sport Coupe, Victoria Coupe, Convertible and 4 door Sedan
The 122 inch wheelbase Series 60 Century got the 120hp 320cu in, available in 2 door Sport Coupe, Victoria Coupe, Convertible and 4 door Sedan.
The 131 inch wheelbase Series 80 Roadmaster with 120hp 320 cu in, in 4 door Phaeton or Sedan.
And the premium 138 inch wheelbase Series 90 Limited, got the 120hp 320 cu in, available in 4 door Formal Sedan or Trunk Sedan
The 1936 Buick was also built in Australia by General Motors Holden, like this car, they varied somewhat from their US counterparts, they were a traditional wooden frame body with fabric roof insert and front doors hinged from the centre pillar. They built a Sedan and a Coupe in the 40 Series and a Sedan in the 60 Series.
