1739 S Street - Designed in 1892 by architect Nicholas T. Haller – to serve as his private residence – the Richardsonian Romanesque style building has also been home to educator Fannie Haller, Representative <a href="
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Wolcott_Wadsworth" >James Wolcott Wadsworth</a>, chief clerk to the Treasury Secretary Theo F. Swayze, physician James G. McKay, physician Aubrey H. Staples (who later has his medical license revoked for "Veterans' Bureau fraud"), and African American religious leader Bishop E.D.W. (Edward Derusha Wilmot) Jones.
