English: Typhoon Khanun (also known as "Falcon" while within the Philippine area of responsibility) of the 2023 Pacific typhoon season at its peak intensity while approaching the Okinawa Islands on August 1, 2023. It had 10-min sustained winds of 175 km/h (110 mph) (JMA) and 1-min sustained winds of 225 km/h (140 mph) (JTWC) and an official minimum central pressure of 930 mbar (27.5 inHg) at the time this image was captured.
